Positive Personal Experience Leads Business Owner to Move Business Banking to Sandy Spring Bank

NVM Paving and Concrete

NVM Paving & Concrete is a full-service asphalt paving contractor serving businesses along the East Coast. The company has been banking with Sandy Spring Bank for more than four years, but Owner Mark Barbaro’s relationship with the Bank started many years before that.

Barbaro was first introduced to Sandy Spring Bank 15 years ago while working on a personal real estate venture. Finding the terms very attractive, Barbaro and Sandy Spring Bank began a long-lasting relationship together.

The competitive financing and strong relationship have been key for Barbaro, who has been working with the same relationship manager for at least 10 years.

“If I have an issue with anything, I go to him. He gets me to the right person or gets the problem solved. I’m happy with the Bank and I’m happy with my banker,” said Barbaro. “They’ve always been able to step up and provide us with different products on the real estate end and make sure we’re comfortable in our deals.”

Barbaro’s positive personal experience with the Bank prompted him to consider a change in his business banking for NVM Paving & Concrete.

“I was dealing with a larger bank in the area for the business. While their branch services were good, they were never able to provide us with favorable financing and weren’t interested in looking at my other real estate ventures,” Barbaro remembers. “Sandy Spring Bank said, ‘Give us a try,’ and so I did. And I’ve been happy with them ever since.”

NVM Paving & Concrete now has Sandy Spring Bank running its whole line of business banking, handling payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, special savings accounts, line of credit for the business, and purchase line for equipment.

“They handle everything for us, and they do a very good job at it,” Barbaro concludes.
