About the Account

​​Monthly Maintenance Fee ​​Balance Requirement
$14

$14 monthly maintenance fee. This fee is waived in any monthly evaluation period you maintain a $15,000 combined average balance in Premier Banking, companion personal deposit products (checking, savings, money market and certificates of deposit, including IRAs) and outstanding personal installment loans or lines or credit (auto, boat, RV, personal and home equity installment loans (does not include mortgages) home equity line of credit and secured and unsecured lines of credit) or maintain a Commercial Checking account with Sandy Spring Bank. The companion deposit accounts used to meet the minimum requirements are subject to all of the terms and conditions for those types of accounts. To qualify as a companion account, all signers on the companion account must be the signers on the Premier Banking account.

The monthly evaluation period is defined as the time period 3 business days prior to the beginning of the statement cycle to 3 business days prior to the ending of the statement cycle.

  • Disclosure

    1If you are assessed an ATM surcharge fee by the owner of the ATM, we will credit your Premier Banking account for the surcharge fee, up to 4 times per monthly statement cycle with a maximum credit of $12 per monthly statement cycle.  Surcharge refund does not apply to interchange fees on international transactions.

    2Other bank may charge a fee.

    3We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always, or ever, authorize and pay them. If we overdraw your account to pay items on one or more occasions, we are not obligated to continue paying future insufficient funds items. We may pay all, some or none of your overdrafts, without notice to you. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, then we decline or return the transaction unpaid.

    We authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions: checks and other transactions made using your checking account number and automatic bill payments. When we determine that your account is overdrawn by a total amount of $5.00 or more after we finish processing for the day, an overdraft fee of $29 will apply to each withdrawal or item paid. We will charge no more than three (3) overdraft fees in any one day. We do not charge an overdraft fee when we determine that your account is overdrawn by a total amount less than $5.00 after we finish processing for the day. 

    We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM transactions and everyday debit card transactions, unless you ask us to do so. If you do not opt-in, any ATM or one-time debit card transactions that would result in an overdraft will be declined or returned unpaid. 

    We do not charge a fee for a declined or returned transaction. The merchant for the transaction may charge a fee.
