    2We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always, or ever, authorize and pay them.  If we overdraw your account to pay items on one or more occasions, we are not obligated to continue paying future insufficient funds items.  We may pay all, some or none of your overdrafts, without notice to you.  If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, then we decline or return the transaction unpaid.

    We authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions: checks and other transactions made using your checking account number and automatic bill payments. When we determine that your account is overdrawn by a total amount of $5.00 or more after we finish processing for the day, an overdraft fee of $29 will apply to each withdrawal or item paid.  We will charge no more than three (3) overdraft fees in any one day.  We do not charge an overdraft fee when we determine that your account is overdrawn by a total amount less than $5.00 after we finish processing for the day. 

    We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM transactions and everyday debit card transactions, unless you ask us to do so. If you do not opt-in, any ATM or one-time debit card transactions that would result in an overdraft will be declined or returned unpaid.  

    We do not charge a fee for a declined or returned transaction.  The merchant for the transaction may charge a fee.

    3The fee for a transaction made at ATMs that are not owned by Sandy Spring Bank or are not part of the Allpoint ATM network. The owner of the machine may also charge a fee.
