Incapacity Planning

Throughout life, you need to plan for the unexpected. Protecting your family and managing assets during a period of incapacity is a critical element of any overall financial and estate plan.

Our Financial Planning Specialists will work with your attorney to review your existing plans and/or to create an updated strategy. We will work closely with your designated decision makers who are assigned the role of managing your financial and medical issues during a period of illness.

We will also work with you to ensure that you have the most recent planning documents, such as Revocable Living Trusts, Durable Financial Powers of Attorney and/or Medical Advance Directives.

Sandy Spring Trust’s team of advisors can help you coordinate and prepare a strong incapacity plan to help ensure that the individuals you trust can make vital decisions on your behalf. Sandy Spring Trust can also be named as a financial decision maker within your documents, or we can be there to assist family members who have been named.
