Asset Protection

Throughout your life, you work hard to build and maintain your wealth, and so it is important to protect it from risk, such as divorce, litigation or bankruptcy. We work closely with your legal and tax advisors and can review your asset protection strategies with you. The most common topics include:

Titling: How you title your assets is critical. Should you own assets in joint name with your spouse or in separate names? There is never one answer. Asset Protection strategies must be structured around your family, your assets and the risks that you face.

Non-personal holdings: Should you create a Family Partnership of LLC (Limited Liability Company)? Should you transfer a portion of your wealth into an Irrevocable Trust? These decisions must be based on your specific situation with strong advice from your team of advisors.

Insurance: It is important to ensure you have the right type of insurance and the appropriate coverage.

Trust after death: Do you wish to leave your estate free and clear to your family? Are you concerned about divorce, mismanagement, over spending, litigation, and bankruptcy? Many clients create trusts that, after they pass, will provide different levels of protection for their loved ones.
