Sharing My Story: Christine Hill Wilson

Sandy Spring Bank Employee, Christine Hill Wilson, Real Banking Requires Real Bankers.

“From here. For here. For 150 years.” The bank’s tagline speaks volumes to me, since the bank has been my only employer. With just a work permit and an application, I started my career here in 1980 as part of the on-the-job-training program at Sherwood High School. At the time, all I wanted to do was type and help others. Little did I know how my career would evolve and the people here would become like my family.

Over the years, Sandy Spring Bank has given me the opportunity to expand my horizons and continue to learn and gain new experiences. I’ve had the opportunity to attend career courses and gain new certifications that that have helped me enhance my skills, grow my career and better serve our clients.  Throughout my time at the bank, I have held a variety of roles in lending, finance, mortgage and the trust department. I also love that I get to volunteer and help others in my community, and the bank even encourages me to do that.

I have met great co-workers over the years—many who I now consider family. The people at Sandy Spring Bank truly care for one another, and this has helped make my work-family balance easier. I am grateful to work for a company whose corporate values are just as important today as they were when I began working here nearly 40 years ago. #SSB150
