Season of Sharing: Be Responsive in Every Way

Lori Shipley, Vice President & Corporate Paralegal

Nearly a century and a half since Sandy Spring Bank first opened its doors, we proudly serve as one of the oldest, independent financial institutions in the area.  We are a strong alternative to the large, out-of-town — and often out-of-touch — banks, having never wavered from our roots.  Making sure our clients have a consistently remarkable experience starts with living out our core principles every day, with every interaction.  One of these principles – Be Responsive in Every Way – has become an embedded mindset across the bank that helps drive success for our clients.

As the Corporate Paralegal in the Legal Department, it’s critical that I provide crisp, accurate and thorough counsel to all areas of the bank to maintain my commitment to colleagues, clients and regulators.  This dedication to responsiveness drives my community service efforts during Season of Sharing, where the bank’s commitment to our communities truly shines through employee volunteerism.  For the past four years, I have partnered with the Frederick Rescue Mission during our Season of Sharing.  My co-captain and colleague, Jessi Giaquinto from Legal, along with members from Human Resources and our Frederick offices, join forces to serve lunch to nearly 200 residents, staff and volunteers.

The Frederick community saw a need to provide food, shelter and clothing to the area and responded by creating the Frederick Rescue Mission.  Currently the rescue mission provides residential recovery programs for the homeless or chemically addicted, warm and nutritious meals to the hungry, and clothing and furniture to those in need.

Sandy Spring Bank helps individuals, families and businesses in Frederick with our personalized service and comprehensive range of financial products and solutions.  We are committed to making the communities we serve a better place to live, work and raise a family.  That is why we partner with the rescue mission during our Season of Sharing. By listening and focusing on the needs of others, I am confident that we will continue to drive results for our clients, shareholders and communities.

There’s still time to respond to community needs and celebrate the Season of Sharing.  Just like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.  Then share and/or retweet any of our Season of Sharing posts, and we’ll donate 10 meals to our local food bank partners.
