Homeownership Month Spotlight: Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland

Recently, Lynne Pulford, Director of the Mortgage Division; Guy Silas, Senior Vice President and Mortgage Banker; and  Hayley Becraft, Vice President and Mortgage Banker, visited Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland (HFHMM) to extend their thanks.

June is National Homeownership Month, and a great time to recognize the importance of homeownership for individuals, families and communities across the region. For nearly 150 years, Sandy Spring Bank has been uniquely positioned to understand and respond to the specific needs of our neighbors. The Mortgage Division of Sandy Spring Bank is deeply committed to strengthening our local economy by making homeownership a reality for people across Maryland, D.C. and Northern Virginia.

In observance of Homeownership Month, Sandy Spring Bank will highlight a few spectacular community partners who work every day to make homeownership more accessible, safe and sustainable. Habitat does remarkable work to build and maintain affordable housing for thousands of low-income individuals in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties.

For over six years, Sandy Spring Bank has donated tens of thousands of dollars to HFHMM, and employees have attended events and volunteered their time to help the organization provide homeownership solutions to the local community.  Additionally, Sandy Spring Bank recently helped HFHMM gain access to the capital they needed to support a $5.4 million project. The project helped to provide safe and affordable housing for 19 local families.
