Mike Johnston

Mike Johnston has over 30 years of experience as a mortgage banker and is a native of the Baltimore area, having grown up in Lutherville where he still lives today. Mike entered the mortgage business in 1992 and has worked in the past for Sears Mortgage Bank, Virginia First Savings Bank, BB&T, National City Bank, Carrollton Bank, Howard Bank, and Meridian Bank. 

Well-versed in all aspects of the business, Mike provides unique service to self-employed borrowers and business owners, as well as for clients in need of jumbo, farm and acreage, construction-perm, and multi-family loans. He builds strong relationships with clients through his integrity, honesty, and professionalism. He is well-versed in first-time homebuyer grants and programs as well as conventional, USDA, FHA, and VA loans, and he works with clients throughout the United States. The majority of his clients are in Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Anne Arundel Counties in Maryland. 

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in business and finance from the University of Colorado. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for over 25 years and has three daughters. He is an avid golfer and enjoys sports photography and waterfowl hunting. A world traveler, Mike has visited over 25 countries, including many countries in Africa. 

Mike has served his community as a recreation league coach in soccer and lacrosse for the Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council and has coached club lacrosse. He has volunteered his time or financially supported various charities including The Family Tree, Habitat for Humanity, The Baltimore International Seafarers’ Center, and Charm City Youth Lacrosse.
