Kevin Slane

Mr. Slane joined Sandy Spring Bank and the executive management team in 2018. As Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Slane oversees the enterprise risk management function that focuses on safely enabling business strategies to drive Sandy Spring Bank’s long-term success.

With more than 35 years of experience, Mr. Slane is an accomplished financial services executive. He currently oversees Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management and Credit Risk Management and various disciplines that support those functions. He joined Sandy Spring Bank from Hancock Whitney Bank in the Gulf South where he was responsible for enterprise risk management, and he had similar risk management responsibilities previously at First Horizon Corporation in Memphis, TN and Wachovia Corporation in Charlotte NC.

Mr. Slane holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. He is a member of the Risk Management Association where he currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.  Mr. Slane is also a Board Member of the Cura Personalis Project in MD that provides vocational training for young adults with intellectual disabilities.
