For the second year in a row, Sandy Spring Bank is pleased to be named one of The Washington Post’s 2020 Top Workplaces. This designation is given to companies that excel in leadership, employee engagement and company alignment. The winners are chosen based solely on annual employee surveys administered by a third party. The full list, including Sandy Spring Bank’s official ranking, will be released by The Washington Post at its celebration in the fall.

“To be named a Top Workplace is especially meaningful because it is a true reflection of how our employees feel about working at Sandy Spring Bank,” said Daniel J. Schrider, President and Chief Executive Officer. “I am so proud of the Sandy Spring Bank team and the way that our people take such great care of our clients and each other – especially over the last several, extraordinary months.”

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, Sandy Spring Bank supported its employees by providing virtual healthcare, extended paid leave and hardship leave, and an appreciation bonus for frontline employees.

“Our employees find a home when they come to Sandy Spring Bank,” said Gary Fernandes, Division Executive of Human Resources. “More than 30 percent of our workforce have been with the bank for more than ten years, and nearly ten percent have been with us for 20 years or more.”
